Treat Café are currently taking registration for a six week baking course in their Lackagh Cafe. The course covers a wide range of delicious desserts and baked goods, everything from cookies for kids to elegant desserts such as profiteroles and roulades.

Helen Maginn, owner of The Cake Fairy—a cake and dessert company founded in New York and now operating here in Galway—is an experienced teacher, having learned a wide range of baking skills both here in Ireland and in the US. She brings a fresh approach to classic recipes, and some new variations for participants to try!

The classes are fully hands-on and participants will enjoy samples of the instructors desserts (with complimentary tea and coffee), and then make their own to bring home. All levels of skill are catered for: each class covers the basics and some more advanced techniques. The course runs for six weeks, starting on the 29th January. 29th of January Sandwich Cakes: Victoria Sponge, Boston Crème Pie

5th of February Baking for Kids: Flapjacks, Cookies

12th of February Valentines Special: Molten Lava Chocolate Cakes, Chocolate Truffles

19th of February Profiteroles: Choux Pastry, Crème Patisserie, Chocolate Sauce

26th of February Roulades: Chocolate Roulade with Mocha Cream

5th of March Cheesecakes: Classic Lemon Cheesecake, Baked Cheesecakes
