Exciting New Irish Summer College expanding to Athenry is now enrolling.

Coláiste Néifinn is an established Irish College in Glenamaddy and Castlebar, and is now enrolling for a course in Athenry.

The college caters for the learning of the Irish Language for 12 to 18 year olds. This college is bringing to life our native language in a new and innovative way and evidence of this can be seen on their new website and facebook. All the teachers have taught in several Gaeltacht colleges and bring a plethora of knowledge and hands on experience to Coláiste Néifinn. According to the organisers, the best way to learn a language is to be actively involved in it in a fun way. The days will be action packed from 10am to 5pm. Special guests like Barbara Nic Dhonncha and Cillian O’Connor have visited the college to join in the excitement.

At present as part of the Leaving Certificate assessment students are awarded 40% of their total marks in Irish for their oral Irish examination. Now more schools are taking the option of preparing their students for the oral Irish Exam for Junior Cert (40%). There are a small number of schools in Galway that are providing this option to Junior Cert students and this is seen to be very beneficial to their progression of their linguistic skills in spoken Irish.

The Coláiste is now enrolling for this Cúrsa Gaeilge for 12–18 year olds for June 30th–11th July in Athenry. The college is delighted to offer this course at the reduced rate of €230. (Places are offered on a first-come-first-served basis). An enrolment night will be held in The Raheen Woods Hotel on Wednesday February 12th at 6pm.

Application forms can be downloaded from their new website colaisteneifinn.com. For further information please call 087 3903994 or email [email protected].
