It’s hard to be grateful when everything is going wrong in your world or in your life. Your child is sick, your car won’t start or there is no money in your bank account.

What do you have to be grateful for? But, there are reasons to be grateful. Be grateful that your child is at home and not in the hospital. Be grateful that you have a car. Be grateful if there is some money in your bank account. There are many people out there who are not as lucky as you.

Take the Time to Look

There are a lot of people out there who think special occasions are the only times to sit down and count blessings. I think every day is a reason to be grateful. Instead of complaining about having to go to work, be grateful that you have a job to go to and that you can take care of your family. Think about all the people out there who can’t work or who have lost their jobs.

You have a lot of reasons to be grateful, if you just take the time to look for them. Finding the silver lining can be the difference between having a bad day and having a great day. Take a look at some of the things going on in your life. For everything you see as being a disappointment or a reason to complain, see if you can come up with something to be grateful for. We, as a society, have forgotten that it’s the little things in life that make it worth living. Remember, no matter how bad your life seems, there is at least one reason to be grateful and there are always people worse off than ourselves.

Make Your Life Better

Work hard at what you like to do and try to overcome all obstacles. Laugh at your mistakes and praise yourself for learning from them. Pick some flowers and appreciate the beauty of nature. Say hello to strangers and enjoy the people you know. Don’t be afraid to show your emotions. Love your friends and family; they are your life. Look for a rainbow and always remember life is better than it seems. You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your dreams. You must be willing to make sacrifices. Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged. There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities. Don’t stand in someone else’s shadow when it’s your sunlight that should lead the way.

Thought for the Week

As your thought for the week, be grateful that you don’t already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be grateful for the difficult times. During those times you grow, find a way to be grateful for your troubles and they can become your blessings. Do the best you can with what you have got and be grateful for the little things.
