Plans are presently being drawn up by the new committee for improvements to the Centre. It is hoped that renovations will commence immediately after the Fashion Show on 21st November 1996 and will consist primarily of the meeting room areas with proposals for a new floor for the main hall being considered for a later date. The hall is presently being used for a number of sporting and recreational activities, most notably Badminton, Indoor Soccer, Basketball, Keep-Fit, Flower Arranging.

Hall bookings can be made by contacting the Centre at 798371 and there are some vacancies for the current winter season. The Annual Fashion Show takes place on the 21st November. Tickets are now being sold and your support would be greatly appreciated. The committee are pleased to advise that the Centre has been approved for Grant Aid under the Dept.of Education’s Recreational Facilities Scheme and these funds will go towards defraying a portion of the costs of the renovations.

Annual Fashion Show

The Annual Fashion Show takes place on Thursday 21st November at 8:30 p.m. in the local Community/Leisure Centre. This is a very important fundraiser for the Centre. The provision of a new floor is presently being researched and it is hoped details of cost involved and amount to be raised will soon be clear. This floor is an absolute necessity if the Centre is to continue to function as a sports facility.

Tickets will be sold from door-to-door within the next two weeks and your support is greatly appreciated. Your Community Centre will benefit and you are guaranteed a very enjoyable night out. Tickets £3.00

The compere for the night will be the superb Johnny Geraghty. Music will be supplied by Kevin Belton. Many familiar faces will be gracing the cat walk and the children should prove a delight also. Do get your ticket early to avoid disappointment.

Christmas Flower Arranging Night

A Flower Arranging Demonstation will be held in the Leisure Centre on Sunday the 15th December at 7pm, and all are invited to attend.

This should be a very enjoyable night for everyone. You can watch Ve Murphy demonstrate how you can transform your home with Christmas floral arrangements and these will be raffled on the night.
