The Claregalway Festival of Drama Committee held their AGM on Thursday night, 27th May.
All present were in agreement that it was a very successful with large attendances most nights. The mixture of some new plays along with some of the old reliables running over the nine nights went down very well with the audience. The winners of both the open and confined sections of the festival went on to qualify for the All-Irelands, with Garrymore Drama Group and their production of The Playboy of the Western World going on to win the All Ireland Confined Finals in Derry.
The following officers were elected for the coming year:

- Secretary Mary Kelly
- Treasurer John Brennan
- Asst. Treasurer Tom Lenihan
- P.R.O. Mary McCarthy
