Update: Mummers Festival cancelled until further notice.

The annual Mummers Festival will take place in the New Inn Leisure Centre this Saturday and Sunday, 2nd and 3rd of January 2010.

This will be the 32nd annual staging of the unique festival of traditional music, song, dance, and storytelling, bringing patrons and participants from all over the country to New Inn.

The competition for the Senior groups will take place on Saturday night, while the Junior groups will compete on Sunday afternoon. There will be cash prizes as well as perpetual trophies for winning groups and individual prizes to recognise the best singers, musicians, dancers and storytellers.

The Mummers Festival is organised by New Inn Community Council, and helps fund some of the running costs of the community leisure centre. In addition some of the proceeds are donated to charity.

For more information, contact Michael Finnerty, Festival Secretary, on 090 967 5600.
