The pupils of Cregmore National School raised a magnificent €1,000 for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, thanks to their admirable efforts with a cake sale and coffee morning prior to the Christmas.

Last week Oisin Keogh, representing the sixth class pupils of Cregmore, presented the cheque to Mattie Kelly for the St. Vincent de Paul.

The fundraising event was organised by Ms Glynn and her pupils in sixth class, while the baking was very generously provided by the parents of the school.

The event proved a wonderful success and Joe Kennelly, Principal of Cregmore National School thanked all who did so much work to make the event such a success.

Mattie Kelly from the St. Vincent de Paul paid tribute and thanks to Cregmore National School for their initiative and added that funds raised from events like these made a huge difference to many people who are forced to receive the help of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
