Local author Julie Grace publishes Abuse of Power: Because Councils Can‘. This Galway story has been met with great interest throughout the country, in the UK, continental Europe and in the USA.

It has been described by readers as “a riveting read’ and “un-put-down-able”. Abuse of Power is currently being turned into a film, and work is progressing on a screenplay.

Abuse of Power chronicles Julie Grace’s time in the Galway City Council and the issues she has fought to expose. Abuse of Power opens discourse on the inequality, inequity and potential for abuse in the Irish local authority system as it stands. The stories in this book are all based on real events and real people in Julie’s native Galway.

The book (€15) is available at Charlie Byrne’s bookshop, Middle St., Galway and can also be purchased online here.
