Our school took part in a musical education programme called the Peace Proms. On Tuesday 1st of December 2015, we attended the Peace Proms Workshop where we met our conductor Greg Beardsell. Then on the 30th of January 2016 we went to the Kingfisher Hall in Galway where we rehearsed with the orchestra and at 8pm the show began.

The orchestra started off the show with a big number, it was brilliant. We sang songs such as Hall of Fame, Roar, Ireland’s Call, Shake It Off, We’re All In This Together, ImagineWhen I Grow Up and lot, lots more. We finished off with You’re the Voice. The Peace Proms 2016 was an amazing experience and I loved it.

The orchestra we performed with was the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) which was established in 1995 as a peace initiative and is composed of over 100 exceptionally talented young musicians from all over Ireland—north and south. Over the past 20 years, the CBOI has played an important role in building and nurturing vital cross border and cross community relations.
