Strictly (Season 2) comes to Claregalway. On Friday January 27th in the Claregalway Hotel football boots will be swapped for sequins and dancing shoes. At the launch of this fundraising event in the Claregalway Hotel this week the full line up for Strictly Claregalway Season 2 was revealed. Since November under the watchful eyes of the pros over 30 twinkle toed locals were taken out of their comfort zones to commence training. With only 2 weeks to go they are enthusiastically perfecting their dance moves and all will be vying to impress the judges and audience – let’s hope no red cards will be issued!

The money raised from Strictly will be used for the development of the Knockdoemore Facility which is home to the Claregalway Football club and many other local clubs and groups. Prize-money will also be donated to a Charity chosen by the winning Dancers.

Tickets are €20 and are on sale now from The Claregalway Hotel Reception or contact the Claregalway GAA Football Club Facebook page. They are selling fast so please get your ticket soon.

Speaking at the launch John Morrin club chairman commented that “without the dedication and commitment of both the dancers and organisers we would not be able to stage this event and we are actively seeking business sponsorship; support for this event which will greatly aid the development of facilities for Claregalway GAA Club”.

Thanks to the main sponsors of the event are: Zurich Life, The Claregalway Hotel, Flynns of Lackagh, Electric Skyline, McCarthy’s Contractors and St.Jarlath’s Credit Union. We are asking for the help of the local business community once again to sponsor dancers and couples in the competition .There are some limited tickets available also from the Hotel or Committee members.

The Claregalway Senior Ladies will return to Kerry on the weekend of 17/19 February to defend their crown at the 2017 Comórtas Peile Páidí Ó Sé.
