Hard luck to Fabienne Cooney, Deirdre Brennan, Megan Glynn, Eimile Gavin, Charolette Cooney and the Galway Senior ladies who lost out to Donegal in the National League on Sunday in Tuam Stadium. Two late Geraldine McLoughlin points sealed a single point win for the visitors. Congrats to Manager Fabienne Cooney and the Colaiste Baile Chlair Ladies who won the Connaught Junior Football Final on Friday last in Tuam Stadium. Final score was Colaiste Baile Chlair 5-10 to Calasanctius 3-6. The Colaiste’s Centre Forward Sinead Donovan was awarded the Player of the Game. Well done to Andrea Glynn and Aoife Gavin who have been selected on the Galway Minor Panel for 2017 and Kaitlin Kearney, Sinead Donovan and Andrea Trill who have made the Galway U-16 panel for 2017. Good luck to all our players playing Championship with their Colleges in the coming weeks.

The Claregalway Adult Ladies will be presented with their Medals at the Annual Club Night in the Claregalway Hotel on Saturday 25th February . There was good success for the Ladies in 2016 reaching the County Senior Final, winning the Connaught Club  League and Paudi O’Shea Senior Tournament plus League Division 5 Winners and Minor Shield winners. Tickets are available from Deirdre Brennan, Fabienne Cooney or any Club Officer. Good luck to the Galway Senior ladies who travel to Monaghan on Sunday for round 3 of the National League. It is with regret that due to clashes with other Fixtures the Senior Ladies have had to cancel their return trip to the Paudi O’Shea Tournament in Kerry.  Club Training continues for all Minor, Junior and Senior Girls on Mondays at 7:30 and Fridays at 8pm in Knockdoemore.

Another amazing community event Strictly Claregalway on the 27th of January resulted from the efforts of a very active and productive committee and the commitment of our 26 dancers who gave a tremendous performance following months of preparation. We thank everyone involved including all our loyal sponsors and the local community who came out in strength to support the event. The positive atmosphere in the Claregalway Hotel on the night was heart warming and resulted in a great night out for all. Thanks again to all who contributed.
