Coláiste Bhaile Chláir TY Community Service Week

Written By: Órlaith Roe

As part of Claregalway College’s TY curriculum, a week of community service took place during the week of February 6th-10th. This is a week where students can get involved in their local communities, giving back and helping local charities, businesses etc.

These ranged from charities such as Irish Cancer Society, Claregalway Charity shop, AIDS West, Enable Ireland and Hand in Hand Oranmore.

Students also helped out locally in places like the Claregalway church and Day-Care centre.

Along with charities and locally run businesses, students also volunteered at primary schools such as Educate Together, Corundulla, Carnmore N.S, Cregmore N.S along with local nainora’s.

Multiple students also went litter picking throughout Claregalway aiding Claregalway’s annual Tidy Towns effort.

Coláiste Bhaile Chláir would like to extend a huge thank you to all charities, primary schools, businesses and shops who took in our students for the week.

Community involvement is a great way for our students to get involved, and in touch with their locality.
