A RISING STAR AND ONE TO LOOK OUT FOR IN THE FUTURE..

Ellen Keane, 12 years old, from Brierfield N.S. took part in the Scór na bPáisti Competition 2017, which was held at the Raheen Woods Hotel on Sunday 26th March. It was her first time to enter the solo singing category and there was tough competition from nine other contestants, but Ellen scooped first place with her beautiful performance of Jimmy Mo Mhíle Stór, accompanying herself on guitar. A well-deserved win, as was widely agreed!

She also took part in the Ballad Group category of on the day with four of her friends, Amy, Robyn, Joyce and Leah, and they also took first place in that category. Finally, Brierfield N.S. were also represented in the set dancing competition, and they took 2nd place there. Great talent altogether coming out of Brierfield N.S. Well done to all involved!

Ellen also featured on Galway Bay this morning with Ollie and Molly singing Jimmy Mo Mhíle Stór. Ellen is daughter of Norrie and Declan Keane.  Norrie is a well known singer.
