‘Never Too Old’ Charity shop benefits the community as a whole.

THE new improved ‘Never Too Old’ Charity shop based in Cois Chláir, Claregalway (behind the Arches Hotel) was established in 2012 and is run 100% by volunteers from the community and surrounding areas.  The shop accepts donations of re-sellable clothing, bric a brac and furniture and could be a valuable source for your Christmas shopping.

All proceeds from the shop go to funding the Claregalway & District Day Care Centre, a centre that provides a place of socialisation for the elderly, socially isolated members of the community, those living with Parkinsons, stroke, dementia or other issues that may restrict their social interaction.

The Day Centre has received approval and funding to build 14 independent units for the older person and is including a purpose built day centre for which fundraising will be undertaken.  This Christmas the Centre is playing host to a “Live Crib” event which will be held on Sunday December 17 between 4-8pm at its current premises in Claregalway village and this event is open to the general public.

The participants and animals all have an association with the Charity Shop and the Day Centre and are coming together to show their support for the work of Day Centre which is currently catering for up to 75 elderly people each week. A great place to be for young and old this Chrstmas.
