The Claregalway and District Day Care Centre fills a crucial and growing need for excellent care for the elderly in our community.  It enables older people to remain independent in their own community, providing a warm and safe environment in which they can enjoy an array of social activities and excursions.

The centre was set up in 2012 by a team of volunteers, on a not-for-profit basis, through a registered charitable organisation which relies on community funding to maintain their services. The staff currently welcome over 50 clients each week starting each day with freshly baked scones, followed by a nutritious meal and a variety of creative activities, music and singing to while away the hours.

This facility is a very important support to the older person who is still able to live at home but needs to have a link to the community. Demand is growing for the service but the current centre has reached its capacity and lacks some of the facilities the carers would like to provide.

Good News – we are building a new and purpose built centre from which we can broaden the impact of this vital service and continue to welcome existing and new clients. The site has been generously donated, plans are drawn up and planning permission is in place – building will start in early 2018.

We Need Your Help!

We need to raise all of the necessary funds to build the new centre. Anything you can give to this worthy cause would be highly appreciated and will 100% go towards the new building project.

Our team of dedicated volunteers are passionate about the value of this centre to the community. With this new day care environment we can ensure the ongoing success of this award winning community programme.

Thank You for Your Support!
