GAA Healthy Clubs: we have been selected to participate in the GAA Healthy Clubs Promotion. We are looking for community input into what activity we should promote. We have already decided to make all our grounds Smoke Free as part of this promotion. What would you like us to promote in the future. Some ideas are:

  1. Healthy Eating Promotions / Demonstrations
    2. Talks on Mental Health
    3. Couch to 5K Programms
    4. Team Diets
    5. Stop Smoking

Is there something that you would like us to promote…. something that is special to you? Please send a private message to the Claregalway GAA Facebook page with your suggestion for the attention of “Healthy Clubs Programme”. All suggestions will be reviewed and the most popular and feasible one will be promoted. Contact is Liam Higgins Healthy Club Officer.

U-8’s and 12’s welcomed Swinford to Knockdoemore on a very wet last Saturday morning.

It was the last Blitz of the Season and there was great football from both sides in spite of the rain. Thanks to all  who helped make it a great event and brown bag Donuts for the constant supply of hot Donuts. Also to PJ, Ray and Breda for organising the 12’s. It was hard luck to our fabulous U-14 Girls in their Finals on Sunday in Headford. Neither Team got any luck with the Div Team losing out after extra  time to Monivea on a score of 3-8 to 3-5.  The Team had finished level 3-4 to 2-7 in normal time with Monivea hitting the net on the stroke of full time to force the extra time. In the Div 5 Cup the young Claregalway girls put in a brilliant performance only  to be piped by a very good An Spideal Team 6-6 to 5-3. A big thanks to Helen Lavin, Michael McGarry, Linda O’Connell David Flaherty Martina Collins and Physio Ciara O’Flynn for all their work with the girls all season. A date for the diary is the Claregalway Ladies underage Presentation and breakfast Morning which will take place again this year in the Claregalway Hotel on Sunday morning 16th December.  The AGM of the Claregalway Ladies Club will be held on Monday 19th November at 8pm in the Knockdoemore Clubhouse.
