THE Claregalway/Lackagh U14 Girls Olympic Handball team topped a terrific performance for teams and individuals from the parish, when they won their Community Games All-Ireland Final in a nail biting finish against Kerry’s Firies in Athlone last Sunday.
After almost four decades in the area, the Poplar trees situated in Lakeview Estate have been been felled. Like other trees around the village, they had grown too high and were potentially hazardous to the community and passerbys.
