Juvenile Medal Presentations
A great evening was had in Claregalway on Sunday 13th December where all the great achievements for 2009 were recognised. MC’s for the evening were Gerry Moran, Chairman of the Ladies Club and Peadar Dolan, Chairman of the Juvenille Club.

A large crowd including players, managers, mentors and parents were present to acknowledge the hard work by all the various groups and in particular the success that the ladies and juveniles have enjoyed this year. One of the Club highlights for 2009 was having the U14 Girls and Boys represent Galway in the National Feile Finals in Kildare earlier in the year.

A big tribute was paid to the Main sponsors, Hughes Supermarket, whose contribution and continued suppport enabled both squads to represent the Club at such a high level. Jimmy Hughes of Hughes Supermarket was on hand to present medals to the Ladies team who participated in Feile 2009. Tribute was also paid to the many volunteers involved in training, fundraising and co-ordinating, which goes on quietly behind the scenes. It is through all of these people and their ongoing dedication and hard work that has made Claregalway GAA Club the success that it is today.

The Club, which continues to grow every year, in 2009, had a membership of close to 650 players. In order to support these growing numbers and to support and promote development of players, It is now critical that the Club can go forward and develop the new training grounds in Knockdoemore, Claregalway as well as improving existing facilities.

There will be a number of activities and various initiatives taking place over the next year to support this development and everyone involved in the Club will be asked to support in any way possible. The most valuable resource that any Club or Organisation has is the people involved in it and in Claregalway GAA, we are lucky to have that in abundance. We are now looking forward to a great year for all in 2010.
