Seniors won the first round of the Comórtas competition with a victory over Carna/Caisel on Sunday last. They play Killanin in the first round of the Senior League in Killannin on Saturday next (26th) in Killanin at 5pm. With spring very much in the air, we look forward to a good turnout of support.

Minors kicked off their 2011 league campaign with a deserved win over Mountbellew/Moylough at Mountbellew. The teams were level at half-time, 1-4 to 0-7, the goal coming from John Evans mid-way through the half. Claregalway took a 3-point lead early in the second half and maintained a winning margin to the end; the score was1-13 to 0-12. The next game is away to Corofin on Wednesday March 30th.

U-14 Girls take part in the Feile on this Saturday in Belclare. Claregalway are in a group of three with first game against hosts Corofin at 11:20am, followed by a game against KilkerrinClonberne at 12:10pm. Top two advance to semifinals at 3:30. All players are asked to be at Belclare Pitch at 10.30 am.

Well done to the Claregalway Girls playing with Presentation Athenry and Colaiste Iognaid Galway who both won Connaught Finals in the last week. Colaiste Iognaid are the Connaught Junior B winners while Presentation Athenry are the Connaught Junior and Senior C winners. Best of luck to Presentation Athenry and H.R.C. Mountbellew in the All-Irelands Semi’s on this Saturday.

Lotto numbers this week were 17 23 24 25. There was no jackpot winner or match three winner. Five lucky dips went to Mickey Brennan, Kiniska, Martin Kilgarriff, Rouanemore, Gerry Moran, Lakeview, Agnes Lenihan, Lakeview and Margaret Naughton, Lydican. The sellers prize went to Siofra Leonard. The jackpot is now reset to €2620 and the next draw is in the Summerfield Bar on March 28th.

Disco will be held in the Community Centre on Friday April 1st. from 9pm to midnight sharp with full supervision. Proceeds are in aid of the Leisure Centre and groups using the Centre.
