Congratulations to our Junior A Ladies who had an outstanding win over Sligo champions Cloonacool/Tubbercurry in Kiltimagh on Sunday last. Right across the Field, every player played magnificently with Claregalway opening the score with a goal after just 36 seconds. This set the tone for a very convincing first half performace which finished Claregalway 2-13 to 0-4 . In the second half Claregalway stayed in control despite a bigger effort from their opponents who upped their game to score 3 points in a row in six minutes . Claregalway responded well and continued to notch up their scores and an excellent run and goal from Fabienne Cooney sealed the game in the last 5 minutes   As the game moved into the final moments Cloonacool/Tubbercurry got a goal but not before being denied again and again by Cullen who made some excellent stops. The final score was Claregalway 3-16, Cloonacool/Tubercurry 1-7. Claregalway now progress to the All-Ireland quarter finals playing away to the London champions, Fulham Irish in two weeks time. The Ladies AGM will take place in early November and nominations are invited for the various officer roles including Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO.  The present committee have been in place for a good number of years and have done and continue to do a significant amount of work for the Ladies Club as well as the overall Club.  Please contact Mary Conlon  conlonmary@eircom.net with either your nomination or if you are interested in becoming involved in any aspect of the Club including helping with Teams, Training, First Aid, IT etc.  Our volunteers are the most important part of our Club and we cannot function with them so your participation and support is very important in our ongoing success.
