Claregalway Junior Ladies have qualified for the knockout stages of the Junior D Championship following a convincing win over Carraroe 5–12 to 2–3 in the third round played in Claregalway on Saturday evening.

Claregalway Team: R Hansberry, C Casserly, L Kirwan, L Keane, N Fahy, E Keane, R Fahy, C Campbell, C Moran, S Harte, R Gavin, S Cullina, M Moran, C Lynskey, L Murray, D Keane, C Moran, A Murphy.


Intermediates have also qualified for county semi final beating Kilkerrin Clonberne 6–9 to 2–9. Claregalway won this game with early first half goals and lead at the break by 4–6 to 0–6. Both Teams had already qualified for the County Semis with Claregalway now going forward as group winners having already defeated Clonbur 2–22 to 5–7.

Congratulations to Deirdre Amy Charlotte and the Galway Senior Ladies on reaching the All-Ireland Semi-Final after defeating Clare on Saturday last.


U14 Ladies are due to play Menlough, Skehana and Dunmore in the Championship next week. There will be a friendly U14 game this Wednesday in Knockdoemore at 7pm. Best wishes to Selector Gerry Moran, Ciara Burke, Ruth Horkan  Eimile Gavin, Megan Glynn, Siobhan Gavin, Deirdre Cullina, and Roisin Holland all part of the County U16s who play Cork in the All-Ireland Final this Saturday 25th at 1:30pm in Nenagh. U12 Girls begin their Championship when the Green panel play Salthill at home on Weds 29th August. The Gold team play An Fhairce. This game has yet to be fixed.  Well done to all the girls who participated in the All Ireland Fleadh at the weekend. Training continues on Saturday at 5.15 and Mondays at 6.30 in Knockdoe.


Well done to Selector Gerry Moran, Players Eimile,Siobhan Megan, Ciara, Deirdre, Ruth and Roisin who were all part of the Galway U-16 Team that defeated Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi on Saturday last in Clan n na Gael grounds. Galway now play Cork in the Final on Saturday week 25th August. Best wishes to Deirdre Brennan, Charlotte Cooney and Amy Rohan who play with Galway Senior Ladies who play in the All-Ireland quarter Final on this Saturday in Birr at 4:30.


U13/14s training continues on Wednesday in Knockdoemore at 7pm and Saturdays at 5:30pm. New players always welcome. The Club will hold a 7s blitz on Sat 1st September. There will be a bus going to the All-Ireland U16 Final v Cork and anyone intrested in travelling give your name to Joan 0868959708.


U12 Ladies training continues on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and Saturdays at 5.30pm in Knockdoemore. Please make every effort to attend as championship begins in just over two weeks. New players always welcome.
