Intermediate Ladies were defeated by KilkerrinClonberne in the County Final on Sunday.The Game was switched to Monivea from Pearse Stadium on Sunday morning. It was KilkerrinClonbern who made the better start with a strong breeze to their backs and lead by 8pts to 2pts at the break. The Claregalway Girls just never got into their stride in the second half and KilkerrinClonbern went on to a comfortable win 15pts to 5pts. We would like to wish KilkerrinClonberne all the best in the Connaught Championship. Junior Ladies lost 3-13 to 1-6 to a much stronger St Brendans Team in the Junior D Championship semi-final on Saturday.

Minor Ladies will play Naoimhe Mhuire in the County Semi-final on next Sunday evening in Claregalway at 6pm.

U-14’s have been invited to the Kilmacud All-Ireland Sevens to be played on Saturday 6th October. Claregalway are the current holders of this tournament and also won it in 2007. Training for all U-13’s and 14’s on Wednesday in Claregalway Comunity Centre Pitch at 7pm. We await the winners on the replay between Salthill and Killannin in the County U-14 Final.

U-12 (Green) Ladies played away to Tuam Cortoon on Monday 17th September in Rnd 3 of the A Championship. Tuam Cortoon opened the scores with 2 excellent points from play but Claregalway responded quickly with a goal to put them slightly ahead in the early stages. For the remainder of the second half, scores were harder to come by with both sides putting in excellent defensive displays. Another goal from Claregalway put them ahead at the break.

The second half began with the same intensity with Tuam Cortoon getting a number of scores to reduce the margin and they continued to create scoring opportunities but were unable to break down the strong Claregalway wall of defense. A 3rd goal & 3 pts from Claregalway gave them a well deserved win on a final scoreline 3-8 to 0-6.
