The Claregalway Ladies held their AGM on Tuesday 4th December. Reports at the AGM covered a very successful year for the Club with an increased membership at all age groups. Tributes were paid to the many volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to the Club and to the many players who represented their Club wearing their jerseys with pride and dignity throughout the year. Outgoing Chairman, Gerry Moran acknowledged and praised the work of his fellow officers, in particular, Paraic Keane who has been the Club Treasurer for many years and has been key to the success of the many trips and events that have taken place over the years. Paraic has worked tirelessly behind the scenes in fundraising as well as managing teams at different age groups over the years. Gerry thanked Paraic for his tremendous commitment to the Club as he steps down from his role as Treasurer. Eileen Conroy was also thanked and acknowledged for her fantastic work as Ladies Club Secretary, in what was a very busy year for the Club. Many tributes were paid to Gerry Moran who has been Chairman of the Ladies Club for many years and he was thanked by all present for his dedication, hard work and commitment to the Club.

Following nominations for various positions within the Club, the following officers were elected; Noel Gilmore, Chairman, Eugene Kearney, Vice Chairman, Secretary TBA, Treasurer, Mike Downes, Registrar, Tim Hynes, PRO, Asumpta Gallagher, Development Officer, Jimmy Gavin, Child Protection Officer, Asumpta Gallagher. Delegates to County Board; Jimmy Gavin, Martin Flaherty, Eugene Kearney.

Managers/Mentors for 2012 are Senior/Intermediate/Senior: Martin Costello, Marty Dowd, Hannah Coen.
U16/Junior: Michael O Connell, Mike Field, Asumpta Gallagher, Tim Hynes.
U14: Jimmy Gavin, Joan Gavin, Elaine Goldrick, Mike Downes, Martin Flaherty,
U12: Eugene Kearney, Ben Trill, John Donovan,
U10: Davy Walsh (more help required).

A Charity Football game for the Sunni Mae Trust in aid of Lily Mae Morrison will take place on St Stephens Day in Claregalway. There will be two games on the day beginning with the U13’s for Girls born in 1999, 2000 and 2001. This will be followed by an Adult Game for all girls born in 1998 upwards. There will be an entry fee of €5 with all proceeds going to the Sunni Mae Trust. Please register your interest and availability to Jimmy Gavin on 087 283 5847.
