Congratulations to our U12 boys team who were crowned City League Division 1 Champions last Friday evening after an enthralling encounter with St James in Westside. We trailed 2–1 to 0–6 at half time but a wonderful second half performance of grit and determination saw our captain (and birthday boy!!) Jake Buckley lift the cup.

Scorers: Cillian Whelan 1–3, Riain Concannon 0–3, Eanna Ó Loinsigh 0–1, Gerard Ó Riordan 0–1, Stephen Healy 0–1.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches on this great achievement. Thank you to all the parents and supporters who came to the match to shout on the lads. Thanks also to Audi Galway our team’s sponsor and our club for the post match refreshments.

Not content with winning one competition last weekend, the same group of players took part in the Clarinbridge GAA Invitational 11 a-side Tournament on Saturday morning. Victories over Headford, St James and Clarinbridge in the group games was followed by an impressive win over Moycullen in the final rounding off a fantastic footballing weekend for the lads.  Well done again to all involved and many thanks to Clarinbridge GAA for the invitation to an excellently organised tournament.

Hard luck to our U12 Girls who played Cahrelistrane in the replay of the League Final in Tuam Stadium. Final score Caherlistrane 1–9 to Claregalway 1–3. Well done to the girls and Management Helen Ó Riordan and David Flaherty, who put in so much effort.

In U14 Ladies final preparations are ongoing for the National Féile which is being held in Cork and Kerry over the weekend. June 24–26th. The Girls are getting very excited and our new gear has arrived and will be distributed on Wednesday evening in the clubhouse. We would like to thank our Main Sponsors, Des and Deirdre Murphy of Murphy Commercials in Baunmore and Liam and Deirdre Slevin from Kesel Construction in Claregalway for their very generous support. The Girls Play Naomh Mhuire in Maree on Tuesday evening June 21st in their final game of the league. This will be their final tune-up before Féile.
