A family fun-day is currently been organised by the parents of Claregalway National School for Sunday the 27th of May at our local GAA grounds and Community Centre. It will be starting at 2:30pm and finishing at 6pm. The day will be focused on the kids having lots of fun and the kind of fun where the parents can also join in for the laugh. There has been huge involvement from parents to make this all possible and from looking at the plans for the day, it is going to be a day to remember. The day will have all sorts of races from wheelbarrow race to egg and spoon race but other activities such puc fada, fun obstacle course, welly throwing competition and to round of outdoor activities an event not to missed, a tug o’war competition between parents of different classes. Who dares to lose in front of their kids! We hope to round of the day with a disco in the hall for all the kids with some other fun indoor activities. It promises to be a great day so see ya down there. There will plenty of highlights to watch out for in the next edition of the Nuacht Chláir.

Our new school car park is almost finished and when it is complete we will be having a car wash fundraiser in the car park, so no getting your car washed till then! Also the layout of the new vegetable garden is in place and it is a lot more open to the kids. It’s a credit to the guys working on it but it will not look its best of course ’til the school’s green team get a hold of it.

Also just a big thank to all who donated to our recent Church Gate collection. The amount collected from the three masses was €760. This is a testament to the generosity of the people from the surrounding area. The proceeds of the collection and any other fundraising will go towards the upgrade of the school play area. Once again thank you very much from the Parents Association.
