Claregalway Hotel recently announced its line-up of music and competitions for the Galway Races, Monday July 27th–Sunday August 2nd.
This 7 day calendar of events is the biggest line-up of live music and country dancing with three great nights from top country entertainers. Galway Plate Wednesday with John Mc Nicholl, Ladies Day with Robert Mizzell and a fantastic Friday with Mick Flavin and his band.
On Monday the 27th Claregalway Hotel are proud sponsors of the ClaregalwayHotel.ie Handicap race, 6.40pm at the Races. Followed by the annual Monday night local’s a party and birthday celebration which kicks off the festival week. Entertainment provided by Liam Hession all the way from Tenerife and Dakota till late. Tuesday entertainment is headlined by the Galway favourite’s—Streetwise, Wednesday the excellent Kings of Connaught, Friday night with local heroes—the Double Deckers.

The highlight of the week is Galway’s original hotel Best Dressed Lady competition on Ladies Day with guest Judge, the lovely Joanne Larby AKA The Make Up Fairy. Joanne, who is one of Ireland’s top bloggers, will be scouting the crowd for this year’s winning ensemble, including best dressed gentleman, with €5000 worth in prizes from Center Jewellers and some of Galway’s most prominent Boutiques and Salons, Osha, Born Clothing, Warehouse, Harper, Flannigan’s Footwear, Pazam hair Studio, The Sanctuary Beauty Salon, Concepts, Standún and much much more.
Pre races tips are provided daily by racing legend Ken Whelan.
