We did it, with your help we have made the impossible possible. In a little over a week we will be moving into our new packing facility.

A significant step that demonstrates there are people, people like YOU, that care deeply for the planet we live on.

This journey started 6 years ago and despite bank after bank refusing our application for credit and telling us time and time again to move into a rented warehouse in some nondescript industrial estate, we persisted.

Through a quirk of fate, or being in the right place at the right time or just pure downright dogged persistence we secured the funding to pursue our dream.

YOU made this possible.

How?

Through reading these blog posts.

Through spreading the word.

Through being a occasional supporter or a regular receiver of one of our organic boxes.

Through words of advice and encouragement.

And a very special THANK YOU to all who supported out crowd funding campaign back in November.

In whatever capacity, it is only through you and people like you that I could take this photo this morning as the sun peaked over the trees.

On this beautiful Sunday morning, with the frosty air and the clear sky, I watched the sun come up over the trees in Cregg forest on top of our new packing shed.

Under my feet are an array of modern solar panels that for me are the epitome of what this project, this farm, this business is all about. We are here to sustain the planet, to nurture it, to do everything in our power to make this world a more sustainable place.

To my back are our polytunnels and our farm where we grow our fresh organic vegetables, in front of me is the forest of 3000 trees that we planted in 2004 and under my feet are half of the 42 solar panels that will generate a good portion of our power in the year ahead.

Back in 2006 we were told going back to grow organic vegetables in the west of Ireland was crazy. Forget it we were told. When we finally started, we were told time and time again, you need chemicals you won’t be able to do this without weed killers. In 2012 and every year since we envisaged this new eco-packing shed we were told by bank after bank there is no money for an idea like that forget it.

It is a tough business to be in. We are competing on every side, with devalued food from the large supermarket chains on one side and erratic and changing climate conditions on the other.
We know though that we are forging a route that is right and proper and worthwhile.

We can stand over what we do and know that the very essence of our modis operandi is good and solid at its core.

We believe that the protection of our fragile environment is the highest priority we have.

Thanks to your help this is going to be our year, our very best year yet. As we stand on the cusp of moving into our new home the future of our farm and business has never looked brighter.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Meade.

Your HELP is a vote for a better food system and you can HAVE MADE a difference.

THANK YOU!
