The French delegation met on September 28th with Cllr Frank Kearney and Eimear Dolan, Senior Executive Officer (Acting), at Galway County Council who encouraged the delegation in their endeavours by stating that the Co Council at renewal of his term of office in 2019 would take the competence of the validations of twinnings. Ms Catherine Gagneax Consule de France in Galway could not be met, having professional constraints.  But she assured the delegation of her support and help.

On September 2, 29th and 30th the delegation met on the spot in Claregalway and chatted with two other councillors from the Galway County Council, Cllr Jim Cuddy and Cllr Malachy Noone with the help of the Hub facilitators Josette Farrell and Clare Horgan . The delegation’s presence at the Medieval Castle event and at Sunday Mass in Claregalway was extremely appreciated.  The welcome was warm everywhere.

The public meeting at the Claregalway Hub went very well in front of a good twenty participants. The people present have positioned themselves to launch a twinning committee with France.  The first meeting was scheduled for Friday 5th October at 6pm at Claregalway Hub and already two people want to take responsibility.
