Claregalway and Carnmore Community Alert Scheme was launched last April. The aim of the scheme is to improve the quality of life for everyone, to keep our area free of serious crime, vandalism and attacks on the elderly and to ensure that friendliness and neighbourly co-operation is maintained and fostered in our area.

The main task for the committee to date has been arranging co-ordinators for each townland and getting ‘Community Alert’ signs. Through the help of Garda Pat Heneghan and through the support of the community, up to 67 people have agreed to act as co-ordinators in the various townlands. The committee will be contacting all co-ordinators shortly to arrange a meeting before the winter sets in.
