Peter Hession of Myrah, now living in Lackagh, a musician and teacher of music invited a few friends to a session on St Stephens night last, to play music and enjoy it. It was a successful evening, and Peter has continued having these traditional evenings on the first Monday night of each month. His reasoning behind this is to get back to enjoying playing together and to have a place where young people can come, play the musical instruments they have learned to love and more importantly to learn from each other and for this great tradition to be passed on.

This last Bank Holiday Monday, August 3, over 20 musicians came to Flynns to play, sing and those of us who came to hear these wonderful sounds listened and enjoyed. From Reels and Jigs, tin whistle player Joe Colins, to songs from Sarah Hession, the ballad of the Famous 6 in a Row, of Turloughmore from Johnny Long, songs from Eithne Brennan, Ger Kearney, Casey Fahy from Boston gave her rendition of Hallelujah.
