Kitty Scully, RTÉ TV Presenter of How to Create a Garden and children attended Greenieland’s very first film shoot last week. Kitty Scully, the kids and the Greenie puppet had fun celebrating the joys around gardening, foraging and reading.

Local Athenry author Morag Kelly and co-writer Michael Duggan were on set. Now in business one year they decided to produce a short film to celebrate the Greenieland concept which was introduced via the company’s first product, the children’s book Gordon Goes to Greenieland (for children aged 4+). A charming 100% Irish book based around the seasons, about the environment and natural cycles of life.

According to Morag ‘it was fantastic to have Kitty work with us at such an exciting event. She has a wealth of knowledge in organic gardening and horticultural education and this is a fantastic boost for our small start-up company. We are now looking at ways of developing our Greenieland concept further and it is great to get the support’.

As part of their one year celebrations Greenieland Interactive Ltd would like to give something back to the community with their Share Greenie’s Story campaign. For every copy of Gordon goes to Greenieland purchased from www.greenieland.ie you will receive one book free to give to your local library, neighbour, charity or person of your choice.

Greenieland Interactive Ltd has been shortlisted for the SCCUL Awards in the Emerging and Social Entrepreneur categories (www.scculawards.ie). They are in the process of developing a set of Greenieland interactive products helping children learn about nature in a fun, interactive and educational way. For more information see www.greenieland.ie.
