Claregalway N.S. Parents Association have compiled a video, highlighting the dangers for local students getting to school each day. A video was made which clearly shows traffic congestion at the N17/N18 junction, right outside the school. Parents of students living in Slí an Bhradáin, Gleann Mhuiris and Church View have expressed deep concern over the dangerous situation, which is an accident waiting to happen.
In 2010, a truck narrowly missed 70 pupils of Cregmore National School as the driver lost control and crashed through a wall into the school yard. Claregalway National School Parents Association want traffic calming measures to be enforced at Claregalway National School before a similar, or worse, incident occurs.
