The Claregalway Youth Leadership group are pictured here carol singing in Galway city to raise money to support the Alan Kerin’s Projects. The youth leadership group run every Monday evening and develop skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem solving, goal setting, team work, leadership and how to contribute to their community.

The group intend to raise money to take part in an inter-cultural immersion programme with young people who are completing in the same leadership programme in Zambia. When they are successful they will travel to Zambia in 2013 to learn about life and culture in Zambia. As well as this they will look at issues that affect young people there and share their own experiences of life in Ireland.

The groups will explore how to harness their skills, energy and strengths to contribute positively to their communities. The trip will culminate in both groups developing their leadership skills and determining what future course of action they would like to take to improve life in their respective countries.
