It was with deep sadness that the people of the Turloughmore area learned of the death of Tony Rabbitt last week. The Cahertymore native lived in Borrisoleigh in Co Tipperary for many years and was hugely involved with his adopted Tipperary club over the years. Tony arranged many challenge matches for Turloughmore teams with his Borrisoleigh club and with other Tipperary clubs at all ages during his time involved where he never shirked far from his native Turloughmore and Galway. Tony was in his mid sixties and even in the midst of a terminal illness he continued to support Turloughmore and attended many club games when ever the opportunity arose.

During the summer when Tony had received disappointing news on his illness, as he was about to start his final round of chemotherapy,  the Cahertymore native was present in Kenny Park Athenry watching Turloughmore in championship action. It was only fitting that his coffin was draped with the Turloughmore jersey as well as the Borrisoleigh colours at his funeral. The people of the area extend sincere sympathies to his wife Marie, sons Mark, Philip and Darragh, daughter Shauna, grandchildren, sisters Breeda (Sr. John) and Mary Hession, brothers Denis, Sean, Gerry and Kevin and his extended family.
