Gerry Commins was living a normal life when on March 16, 2016 his whole world changed forever. On that evening he was involved in an accident, whilst working in a voluntary capacity for his local community in Bawnmore Claregalway. It resulted in Gerry sustaining a life changing injury and he is now confined to a wheelchair. Life as Gerry knew it, was no more. Gerry returned home, finally, in July. Thankfully, there are incremental steps of improvement each week. For instance he is now driving but everyday difficulties remain and are likely to do so. Gerry, who lives in Bawnmore with his wife Caroline (nee Roche) and their two children Clodagh (14) and Shane (11), needs to redesign their home to cope with his new everyday living needs. To that end a new extension, with his specific requirements catered for, is to be built. In an effort to help defray the costs of this extension a fundraising Raffle will take place on Easter Sunday Night. Let’s make the Journey with Gerry.
