The Summer Football camp is on Monday the 14th August to Friday the 18th August in Knockdoemore Park, for 5 days. For application forms these will be available in June: [email protected]
The weather was very good to us this week. A little on the cold side on Tuesday, two small showers yesterday and a lovely warm day today. Warm enough in fact for an Ice Cream treat.
Well do to our campers who took part in the Easter camp. Hope you enjoy the 4 days, we loved having you.
Where the funds are going for this camp: The money raised from this camp and last summer’s camp will cover the cost of flooring for the upstairs Social Room in Knockdoemore (at present is bare flooring and unsuitable for general use) which we hope to use as an indoor training area; for our meetings; coaching seminars; club First Aid Courses and many other club activities. This room will then be suitable other community organisations to use and to be rented out for use thereby gaining an income. Some of last year’s money was used to run a Club First Aid Course and we hope to run another along with a coaching course over the next few months, it was also used for flooring painting. We hope your child enjoyed these few days of football and thank you the parents for bringing your child to this Club event. We also thank our young Coaches for taking the time to coach and encourage our young people.

Kearney, Sinead Donovan and Andrea Trill all part of Galway Teams that had big wins in the Connaught Championship at weekend. All three Galway Teams are in the Connaught Final. Congratulations to Mary Dunphy and the Galway Minor Camoige team on their win on Saturday in the All Ireland Final played in Nenagh. Next round of Adult League take place on May 7th Division 1 away to Annaghdown and Division 4 away to Caherlistrane.
In the Féile u14 Boys competition Claregalway had wins over Mountbellew/Moylough on a scoreline of 2-8 to 0-2 and Monivea/Abbey on a scoreline of 1-4 to 0-3. Unfortunately we lost out to Ballinasloe on a scoreline of 0-7 to 2-0. Well done to all for the effort put in.
The hugely successful Journey with Gerry Fundraising Raffle took place on Easter Sunday night in the Claregalway Hotel after a nine week fundraising effort. Gerry Commins, Bawnmore, Claregalway, whilst working in a voluntary capacity for his local community in Bawnmore, had an accident which resulted in him sustaining a life changing injury and he is now confined to a wheelchair.
To that end a new extension, with his specific requirements catered for, is currently being built and the fundraiser was designed to help defray the costs of this extension. The Prizes, with the winning ticket numbers, are listed below and can be claimed by contacting any of the committee below before June 1st 2017.
