Communities across Galway to benefit from Tidy Towns’ Competition funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development

Seán Kyne, Minister for Community Development, Natural Resources and Digital Development and Fine Gael TD for Galway West and Mayo South, Seán Kyne TD has confirmed the allocation of funding to Galway’s Tidy Towns’ groups as part of a national allocation to mark the 60th anniversary of the competition.

Commented Minister Kyne: “This grant scheme recognises the hard work and dedication of Tidy Towns’ groups in Galway and will see €65,000 invested in communities right across the city and county.

“Galway is fortunate to have to have almost 50 Tidy Towns’ groups whose diligent work and volunteering benefits every one of us in the county. The commitment of the Tidy Towns’ volunteers in Galway is outstanding and I am delighted that we are able to celebrate that commitment at the Department of Rural and Community Development through this funding.

“This funding is in addition to the annual funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Competition’s sponsors, Super Valu, and will be a very well-earned boost to Galway’s Tidy Towns’ groups.
