The death occurred at the weekend of Johnny Walsh of Bawnmore. Johnny was a generous, quiet, reserved person whose life centred around his family. Johnny nad moved from the next village of Liscaninane to set up home in Bawnmore with his wife May and worked hard in providing for his family.

He worked as a driver delivering oil and coal and was a great provider for his family. Johnny always greeted everybody with a smile and his friendly nature made him hugely popular in his locality.

Johnny enjoyed the simple things of life. In his youth Johnny had played football with Claregalway and Annaghdown and he never lost his interest in sport. johnny also loved the game of cards and he enjoyed going on holidays since he retired. Johnny will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The remains were removed from his home and brought to the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh for his funeral Mass celebrated by Fr. John O’Gorman PP Lackagh and burial followed in Cregg Cemetery.

Johnny is survived by his wife May, daughters Marie (Claregalway) and Jackie Murnane (Limerick), son Jonathan (Annaghdown), daughter-in-law Carmel, son-in-law Alan, much loved grandchildren Ben, Briain, Laurie and Caoimhe, sister Mary Ferry (Florida), brothers Patrick (Liscaninane), Tommy (Annaghdown), brothers-in-law Jim, Martin, Tommy, and Sean, sisters-in-law Mary, Margaret, Breda and ann, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
