Our new sponsor for this year is Harry’s Cycles and Garden Machinery. We are indebted to them for their very generous sponsorship and look forward to a challenging year knowing that our finances are stable. Thanks to Greaney Glass who has sponsored the Club for so long. It is heartening to see new faces willing to taken on such an enormous task and thanks to the many individuals who have offered financial assistance also.

Seniors

John Mannion, Manager of the Senior Team, together with his selectors Fergus Madden and Jimmy Noone, have advanced to the latter stages of the City League and also have reached the Semi-Final Stage of the Open Draw.

The Seniors have two games played in the Championship. The first game was against Craughwell and won on a scoreline of Carnmore 2–12 to Craughwell 1–10. Goals by Noel Walsh, and Damian Fahy left Craughwell playing catch-up all through the game.

In the second game, Carnmore played Clarenbridge in Ballinderreen and were defeated on a score of Clarenbridge 1–18 to Carnmore 0–10. This game had all the makings of a thriller but ended with an easy win for Clarinbridge with Carnmore fading completely after being level at the interval. Carnmore, on the day, were missing some key players through injury and the young players on this year’s panel are tasting for the first time what championship Hurling is all about. This was the first defeat for the Seniors since the new management took over. It’s still all to play for, with remaining games against Portumna and Gort.

Junior A

Bertie Linnane and his Junior A Team are enjoying a successful run. They have a strong team together with some players from last year’s Senior Team opting to play Junior. They are two games up in the Championship with wins over Liam Mellows and Ballinderreen and are looking good to go one step further this year.

The Minor team have had no great success this year. They have a young team and exam time is now on top of a lot of these young players. Indeed we wish them all well as they prepare for D Day—9th June.

Golf AM/AM

The Club will be hosting its annual Golf AM AM on 9th, 10th July in Tuam Golf Club. We hope all golfers will support us as it is always a very enjoyable two-day event.

Lotto

The Lotto, sponsored by All Star Oil is currently running at £2,000. Good luck and thanks to all who purchase tickets.
