Annual Social: This year it is the turn of our Minor team of 20 years ago to be honoured at our Dinner Dance in the Claregalway Hotel on Saturday February19th. In 1999 they won the double, that is, the Co. Minor B League and Championship. As usual, there will be a number of Awards to honour those selected for distinguished performance in 2010, including the U-14 All-Ireland winning team management. The entertainment will feature well known entertainer Don Stiffe, music by Silkwood and a variety of door and spot prizes. Tables will be held for those who wish to sit together, with his or her crew, by request to the committee in advance. The proceeds will be used for the Club’s development fund for new facilities to cater for the increasing membership. So come and join us and recount the stories from 2010 and beyond. Tickets are available from Mary Conlon 087 7999379, Gerry Moran 091 798510, Kenny Murphy 087 6707297, Margaret Kearney 087 2044158.

Registration Night for seniors, juniors, underage, juvenile and ladies football grades will be held in the Clubhouse on Thursday February 24th. from 6pm to 9pm. All players must be officially registered and all current members are asked to attend. New members joining up may like to know that the Club has well established structures to facilitate Adult, Juvenile and Ladies football sections with autonomy to manage their own teams within the executive committee framework. Also, the Club has a number of set management policies in line with its responsibilities, i.e., Youth policy, Discipline and Code of Conduct for players and team managers, Coaching and Development Policy (coaches have completed Foundation Level courses), Child Protection Policy. So if you have a friend who is interested, pass on this news.

Tell us! There is a survey up on our website www.claregalwaygaa.net inviting comments from parents, members, coaches and team managers in relation to various aspects of the Club. It would be good to get as many ideas as possible.
