Congrats to club player Danny Cummins and the Galway U21 team on their Connacht championship title win at Pearse Stadium on Saturday last.

Juveniles: Certainly a busy week for all teams with Very competitive activity with most groups. It seemed to be a big Home weekend withmost ages hosting.Game of the week was surely our U16 squad who lost out by a single point to neighbours Corofin in a thrilling encounter. This game tested out our new training lights and facilitated. the finishing of the game. For those in attendance they witnessed an incredible game and the old adage of goals winning games held true with Corofin yield three in the second half from consecutive attacks. However Mick Coyle would have to happy with the overall performance his team despite absence of some regulars, who showed great spirit to the end notching up 2–12 to Corofins 4–7. They are out again this week against Moutbellew and if you want to see some pure football get along to this one. On Friday night last Claregalway under 14s kicked off their league programme with a game versus Corofin in Carnmore.

It was one of those strange games where both teams played better football against the severe elements. Claregalway scored early with two points from Andrew Connolly and a goal from Enda Carr, but it has to be said that Corofin showed all their guile and experience by defending resolutely throughout the half. The result seemed a foregone conclusion, when Corofin, on one of their breaks, scored a smashing goal to leave the half time score 1–2 to 1–1 in Claregalway’s favour. In the second half, a superior Corofin side took some lovely scores from distance as Claregalway tried manfully to stem the tide. Captain Sean Keogh, defenders Tomas Coyle and Cathal Whelan worked tirelessy throughout. Andrew Connolly and Sean Loftus attacked at every opportunity and were rewarded with a goal and two points, towards the end of the game, as they never gave up. It certainly was a learning experience for our lads who have a lot of work to do to reach the standards set by Frank Morris’s charges, who played some beautiful football throughout.

Final score Corofin 5–7
Claregalway 2–4

Next game is away to Monivea next friday at 7pm.

The Club would like to wish the best of luck to Marc Goldrick and the Jarlath’s college team in their quest to bring The Hogan Cup back to Galway, when they play St Colman’s of Newry in Croke Park on Saturday. However the real excitement was the return of the U10 and U8 to Claregalway on Sunday morning to start their training season. With all the Activity we would have needed the traffic core to manage the turnout which was terrific. John Morrin and Padraic Fitzmaurice Were main coordinators on the day and this group will again be at the centre on Sunday Morning next. More Helpers will be gladly welcome and are asked to speak directly with John on the morning or contact any club officer. We encourage all the Underage teams to go along to support Galway v the Dubs on Sunday next and Cheer loudly for our Clubman Adrian Flaherty who has been starring between the posts in recent games.

Thank you to all the Helpers Who are Making the CDG Youth Disco a huge success in the Centre and now the Number 1 attraction for all the Kids in this age group in Galway. Also thank to all who traveled from Moycullen to Tuam to Athenry and everywhere in between. We look forward to seeing you all again on April 29th for next event.
