From Tony Clarke,

As you are probably aware Galway Football Board and Cancer Care West has formed a partnership for the purpose of fundraising during 2011. Under the partnership, all GAA clubs in the county, are expected to participate in a sponsored walk on Saturday, 18th June to raise funds for both organisations. For the purposes of organisation, Claregalway have been grouped with three other clubs, Annaghdown, Caherlistrane and Headford.

The walks are also being sponsored by Supervalu thus the four clubs in our group are scheduled to walk from Annaghdown football pitch to Hughes Supermarket carpark in Claregalway and arrive there at 12 noon.

We as a club are obliged to participate and as such we are seeking volunteers who would participate in the walk on our behalf and raise sponsoraship in the process. Monies raised will be divided equally between Cancer Care West and the Football board, which they require to finance the Galway senior football team.

I have over 30 sponsorship cards and I’m looking for people to take them and seek as much sponsorship as possible on a line by line basis. Can each of you source at least one person interested in participating in the walk and are prepared to raise sponsorship for their participation. The cards only came into the clubs posession yesterday evening and the timeframe tight, it imperative that we get the cards distributed over this weekend . Please give this your attention and assist in ensuring cards will be available for issue at all events over the weekend. Ring me for Sponsorship Cards on 086 2532300.
