Senior Ladies: Claregalway Senior Ladies travelled to Clonbur on Sunday morning for round 5 of the Div1 league. Clonbur scored the first two scores a goal and a point but Claregalway got on top and lead at halftime 2-6 to 2-3. The second half was end to end football with the greater fitnesss of the Claregalway girls telling in the end and resulted in a narrow 5-9 to 3-10 victory. Claregalway are due to play Dunmore next Sunday and remain in contention for either a League or Shield Final. Minor Girls play KilkerrinClonbern in the minor Final next Saturday in Caltra. Training on Wednesday at 7pm in Claregalway.

Claregalway ladies play in an U15 ladies tournament to be held in Sarsfields GAA, Newbridge, Co Kildare on Saturday week the 27th October.Teams invited to participate in the tournament are :Sarsfields (Kildare) Claregalway (Galway)Douglas (Cork)Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin). Training for U-15’s in Claregalway on Wednesday evening at 7pm.

U-14 Ladies: 4-in-a-Row County Championships well done Girls!!!

Claregalway U-14 ladies played Killannin in the A Championship Final in Moycullen on Saturday 13th October. Played in ideal conditions the Claregalway were a little slow to settle and after 10 mins lead by 2pts to 1pt. Midway through the half Stephanie O’Connell got in for the first of her two goals and Claregalway lead at the break 2-6 to Killannin 1-3. The Teams were evenly match for the second half with the difference between the Teams being Killannin were missing some chances while Laura Field and co were hitting the target with almost every attack. Final score was Claregalway 2-15 Killannin 1-7. This brings an end to another successful season for Claregalway Ladies at U-14 level winning the Division 1 and 4 Leagues County Feile and A Championship.

U-12 Gold played Caherlistrane in the D Championship Final on Sunday in Miltown. This was a great game of football from start to finish with great displays from both teams. The Claregalway girls had most of the possession in the first half getting some great scores but Caherlistrane were excellent defensively denying them a lot of opportunies however, it was Claregalway who were ahead at the break. Caherlistrane came out very strong in the second half scoring a great goal to narrow the gap but the Claregalway girls dug deep showing incredible charachter and determination and finished the game deserved winners. Mary Hernon, County Board Secretary presented the Cup to Team Captain, Caitlin Quinn. The U12’s returned to Claregalway to Bonfires and great celebrations.

U-12 Green play St Gabriels this Sunday in the A Championship Final with the time and venue to be confirmed. Training on Wednesday from 6 to 7pm in Knockdoemore.

Well done to the U12 girls who did very well in the National Soccer finals in Dublin at the weekend coming home with Silver Medals.
