The Summer Football camp from Monday the 14th August to Friday the 18th August was a great success. Thanks to all involved in the organising of same.

The Senior Ladies took on Annaghdown in Round 3 of the Division 1 league in Annaghdown on Sunday morning. Played in brilliant sunshine the opening half was a very close affair with Claregalway holding a single point lead over the current All-Ireland Intermediate Champions 1-4 to 1-3. Claregalway upped their game in the second half and ran out convincing winners on a final score of 3-14 to 1-6. Claregalway play Glenamaddy/Williamstown on Friday evening next in Knockdoemore at 8pm. Well done to Eugene Kearney Shauna Brennan, Kiara Kearney, Kate Slevin and Chaleene Trill and the Galway U14 girls who defeated Leitrim in Connaught Final on Sunday in Swindford on a score of 3-13 to 3-05

Congratulations and well done to our U16 Ladies football team who had a hard fought ,but comprehensive victory over Tuam/Cortoon in the U16 County Final last week. The game was played in beautiful conditions in Barnadearg at the home of Killererin Football Club. Tuam/Cortoon had won the U16 County Final last year at this venue against Claregalway and they jumped into an early lead of 1-2 to 0-0 but slowly but surely the Claregalway Forwards got into the game and got the scores to. put Claregalway ahead at halftime. It was more of the same in the second half with the Claregalway backs and midfielders working very hard to stiffle the Tuam attack. Tuam/Cortoon closed the gap to three points with 12 Minutes to go but from there the backs closed the doors and our forwards ran rampant to finish the game as county champions on a scoreline of Claregalway 8-10 TuamCortoon 3-9. The Girls enjoyed a dip in the lake at Annaghdown pier afterwards

In Mens football our seniors are out on Saturday May 13th against Oughterard at 5.30pm in Pearse Stadium. This is the first round of the Intermediate Championship. Please support.
