The St. Patrick’s Day committee in Claregalway will host a marquee with lots of children’s and musical entertainment and food in the courtyard of Hughes SuperValu from noon to 3pm on St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday March 17th and this year will also include a short traditional parade at noon from The Arches Hotel over to the courtyard.

This hopes to bring the festival to life to more areas of the village and give the children an opportunity to participate in a traditional, albeit short parade.

The road will be closed for a very short period of time and will be managed by An Garda Siochana and local volunteers – anyone who would like to get involved with running the events of the day is asked to send an email to [email protected].

The committee hopes to have prizes for the best float, costumes or novelty act through sponsorship from local business. Health and safety needs to be considered when entering any floats and will be checked before being able to participate.
