For several decades, Richard Haslam’s name has been synonymous with world of floral art. He has demonstrated his skills worldwide, and in doing so, raised thousands of Euros for charitable causes. Now the floristry world is getting him back!
Richard has been ill since the summer and an enthusiastic group have banded together to support him by holding a spectacular Christmas demonstration featuring four well known florists. Jenny Murphy will lead the team; she won the Chelsea Florist of the Year & Chelsea Gold Medal. Local talented demonstrators are Samantha Foran, John Spain & Shirley Treston. The MC for the night will be Peter Kelly, AKA Franc. Seamus Floral Sundries, Fitzgerald Flowers and Westwood House Hotel are the main sponsors.
At the end of the evening, the floral arrangements will be raffled, along with a myriad of spot prizes which (thanks to the generosity of so many friends) have been gathering. The organisers are bowled by the generous response from sponsors. Anyone who knows Richard’s talent will agree that he has an extraordinary ability to create floral works of art; his influence can be seen in the talents of each of these demonstrators.
Richard is a multi-medal winner in Bloom, Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Flower Show and was awarded a plaque in 2004 for long term service to the industry Westwood House Hotel will welcome guests to the venue with a mulled wine reception.
