Golf AM/AM

A Golf am/am was held in Tuam Gold Club on August 29th to raise funds for the Leisure Centre. This proved to be a highly successful venture, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated, most especially by those who were lucky enough to win one of the many prizes. In all, there were 15 team prizes presented, plus some individual awards and spot prizes on the night of presentation. The first three teams were the following:

  • 1st Team Michael Shaughnessy, Kevin Holland, Martin Naughton, John J. Keane
  • 2nd Team Hugh O’Neill, Tommy Moran, Tom McCarthy, Martin O’Neill
  • 3rd Team Val Hanley, Tony Hanley, Jimmy Hughes, Sean O’Grady

The success of the occasion was assured when the local Business Community and many others came up trumps with very generous sponsorhip. Tom and Julie McKenna, of the Summerfield Bar, were the main sponsors, but the smaller sponsorhips of so many people all combined to guarantee financial success. All our sponsors, to whom we are very grateful, are listed below.

The event could not have taken place without the hard work and commitment of the Sub-Committee who took complete charge of the running of the competition. We would like to say a huge thank you to Gearoid Hartigan, Martin Casserly and Jimmy Moran.

38 Teams participated on the day, and enjoyed perfect weather conditions. The presentation of prizes took place in the Summerfield Bar, Claregalway and a very enjoyable night was had by all.

Again our thanks to our Sponsors, to all those who entered teams and played on the day, and to the Sub-committee. Well done everyone.
