Fri 18th Nov. 10.30-12.30: Patchwork for beginners with Ester Kiely (16Euro). Today we will learn how to put patchwork blocks together with ‘sashing’ in between and create a border. Put the quilt top, wadding and backing together to form a ‘quilt sandwich’. Learn how to hand-quilt and machine stitch through the layers. Add a binding to the quilt edge. It’s a lot to learn in one class but we will work through all of these techniques on a small sample piece so that when you have made several blocks you will know how to put them together. Follow-up assistance with your project is always available at Le Grá Craft Studio and Gallery at the free Tuesday morning drop-in event!

Felt flowers with “Knit Spin Felt” (20Euro 2.5hr class).
Felt flowers are easy to make and the wool for felting comes in vibrant colours, so the flowers make wonderful accessories to any outfit. You could make a bouquet with these to place on your desk at work or home or even to decorate your bags, headbands and various other accessories. You will fall in love with them and want to make them for every occasion. A fun craft activity for everyone as no previous felting experience is required.

Clutch purses are stylish fashion accessories that are simple and quick to make. And, most importantly, a girl can never have too many! Drypoint Printmaking with Norah Brennan (16Euro)
A method of printmaking that involves scraping into a sheet of Perspex, from your own drawing, photograph or found image. Ink is pressed into the marks on the Perspex and then transferred on to pre-soaked paper using a printing press. Suitable for beginners and the more experienced. Materials supplied at a cost of 2Euro.
