East County Galway Gaeltacht* Small Grants Scheme 2013
*(The Gaeltacht area includes the following DEDs: Claregalway, Carnmore, Carrowbrowne, Annaghdown, Lackaghbeg, Ballintemple, Galway Rural)

Galway Rural Development Co. Ltd., (GRD) under its Local and Community Development programme, is seeking applications for a scheme to provide small grants to groups to carry out activities and projects designed primarily to support capacity building and development of Voluntary & Community Groups in the Gaeltacht area of East County Galway.

The total amount of funding available is €2,000 for activities and projects in the Gaeltacht area of East County Galway. Proposals for projects requiring funding between €500 and €800 will be considered.

Applications are invited from:

  • Local Community/Voluntary Groups –with specific projects promoting capacity building.
  • All groups and organisations that are engaged in organising and promoting events and activities aimed at integrating Cultural and/or Minority Ethnic Groups/Individuals into the community and supporting capacity and development of groups (Inclusive of Organisations supporting Travellers).

Conditions of Funding include the following

  • This funding must be used to carry out activities and projects in the Gaeltacht area of East County Galway with the main objective being capacity building and development of Community & Voluntary Groups. (Please read Guidance Notes and Conditions of Funding before completing the application form).
  • All projects awarded funding must be completed by Friday, the 1st of November 2013. A final evaluation report of the activity/project undertaken and a final financial breakdown of all costs must be completed and submitted to Galway Rural Development, Mellows Campus, Athenry by Friday, 1st November 2013.

Galway Rural Development is now seeking proposals from groups operating in the Gaeltacht area in East County Galway for relevant projects under this fund.
