I have a deep passion for how the mind works. My work has led me to focus on how to support individuals and organisations in building their inner resilience and the resilience of those they work with.
I am a leadership and education consultant who incorporates the latest research into my work. With a particular focus on developing national programmes and policies aimed at professional development for social change.
I have worked with diverse groups including; prisoners, youth, business executives and high-performance athletes.
To-date I have developed 15 resources to support professional development in human behaviour change in areas such as leadership, wellbeing, sexual violence prevention, offending behaviour, entrepreneurship, politics and sports performance.
Recently, I developed the New National Junior Certificate SPHE (Wellbeing, Mental & Sexual Health Programme). As well as developed the National Strategy for Child & Youth Participation and accompanying Culture Change Toolkit and Training for 4,000 staff within Tusla (Irelands, Child & Family Agency).
I have worked as an education consultant for UNESCO. Delivered training and research projects internationally in Africa, India, USA, UK, Ukraine & Middle-East.
I hold a PhD in Leadership, Resilience & Social Support amongst Youth. An MA Health Education & Promotion, Dip Youth & Community Work, Dip Management & Executive Coaching, Dip in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher training & Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living Teacher training, BSc Science (Pharmacology, Biochemistry & Psychology).
I have practised meditation since 2005 and yoga since 2003.
I am a keen athlete, loving triathlons, I have competed in Ironman, ran 5 marathons and swam across Galway Bay (approx 13km). I have a black-belt in Tae Kwon-Do, surf, kitesurf and practice handstands & cartwheels!
I wrote a book called ‘The Athlete’s Secret Garden – Tending the Mind for Peak Performance’ in 2017.
